I’m Hugz the Clown,
After working as an administrative assistant for many years and moving all over the country, I came home seven years ago to be near my family. This is when I discovered my passion for clowning. I attended a clown convention and was hooked. I joined a local clown alley, began talking to other clowns, taking classes, and going to balloon twisting jams. I have been to the Western Regional Clown Association Convention every year for the past seven years, attended as many classes as I could from balloon twisting to magic, face painting and writing skits. I now hold the office of secretary for this organization.
Following my first convention I began entertaining at children’s parties, and from there moved to entertain for many other events such as senior retirement parties, school carnivals, corporate picnics, weddings, religious celebrations, yacht clubs, fairs and more. Some of my most recent jobs have been the St. Francis Yacht Club out of San Francisco, The Yuba Sutter Fair, a wedding at Cielo Winery, and a project to raise funds for the homeless in Seattle, Washington.
I love my job. There is nothing as special in the world as seeing a child’s face light up when they see you or when they run up to you, throw their arms around you and say “I love you, clown.”
